A bit of history first For many years Zonnehoek has been "THE" refferance to the chrysantemum greenhouse in Kwintsheul, The Netherlands.
In the year 1999 son took over from father and in 2000 a new company was found.
Richard and Karin Grootscholten are now both owners of Zonnehoek C.V. InvestmentsThe surface grew from 18.000 m2 to 28.000 m2 Large investments were made into new modern techniques and growing/methods. Examples are a harvest machine which transports the flowers underground through a tunnel to the mainhall were they can be cooled and processed to customer-needs. Assimilation lighting was one of the other investments which made us make the best quality flower even in the lesser-light periods.
Since 2006 we have a plantrobot that plants for us. Expansion and switching speciesZonnehoek has grown "Delianne" till 2006 at Zonnehoek 1 in Kwintsheul.
In 2006 we switched to Anastasia
In 2006 we bought Zonnehoek 2 which lies a minor 700 mtrs away from Zonnehoek 2. Ideal!
The surface grew from 28.000m2 to 59.000m2.
We grew "Delianne white" for 2 more years at Zonnehoek 2 before we switched to Anastasia also in 2008. Whats being grown at zonnehoek
   Why Anastasia?We chose Anastasia because it felt under the spider-shaped chrysantemum category and has a better preservability in comparison with Delianne.
The counterpart was a higher manufacturing price for Anastasia compared to Delianne. The longer growing-period and the 2nd sorting play a role in this. Unmatched qualityStill we have faith in the Anastasia series.
